SPAM EMAILS
When is Spectrum going to do something about all these SPAM emails. Can't they put a Captcha? I get at least 50-70 SPAM emails a day. I have the settings for SPAM to go into the SPAM folder but, that doesn't work. Spectrum needs to do something about receiving all these SPAM emails.

Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community!
I do apologize for the amount of spam emails you get. We do have the spam filters and things in place but not everything gets filtered just like any other email program. You can continue to label the emails as spam and it helps the program to filter better as you report more.
I can certainly forward up your feedback as well for you.

Hello Tyleen,
Thank you for responding. I understand that no spam filter can catch every unwanted email. However, I am receiving approximately 30–50 spam emails every day at my bschmal@tampabay.rr.com email address, which seems excessive and suggests that the spam filtering on this account may not be functioning effectively.
I understand that tampabay.rr.com is a legacy Road Runner email address that Spectrum no longer issues or actively supports. However, Spectrum continues to host the email account and the messages are being delivered through Spectrum's mail servers. Therefore, I would expect Spectrum's server-level spam and security protections to apply to incoming mail before it reaches my inbox.
I have repeatedly marked these messages as spam, but the volume has not meaningfully decreased. Simply continuing to mark 30–50 messages every day does not appear to be resolving the problem.
Could you please escalate this issue to the appropriate technical or email security team and determine:
- Whether Spectrum's current server-side spam filtering is being applied to legacy @tampabay.rr.com accounts;
- Whether my account can be checked to verify that the spam filtering is functioning correctly;
- Whether there are additional server-side spam settings or protections that can be enabled for legacy accounts; and
- Whether Spectrum is aware of unusually high levels of spam currently targeting Road Runner email domains.
I am not expecting Spectrum to block 100% of spam. I am asking Spectrum to investigate why such an unusually large volume of obvious spam is consistently reaching this Spectrum-hosted mailbox.
I would appreciate having this forwarded to someone who can investigate the technical issue rather than simply advising me to continue marking the messages as spam.
Thank you,
Barbara Schmal
