Reporting spam vs moving spam

In Webmail, if I 'report' an email as spam, it is automatically moved to the spam folder.

What if I would to manually move an emal to the spam folder using an IMAP email client, does the email still get 'reported' as spam to the email server?

    Hi @jhvrcleve, welcome to our community!

    Marking an email as spam or moving it to the spam folder are equivalent actions. Similarly if you accidentally mark something as spam you can just move it out of the spam folder to undo that.
