    I think you pay $7 a month for the Spectrum router. Buy your own to have more features and remove the monthly cost.

    @debonater17 Like another poster indicated. I would suggest getting your own router and returning the combo unit and get a modem only from Spectrum, which they provide for free. Paying the rental fees add up and you can buy a good router for what you pay in rental fees for a year. You will then be able to do much more with the router, such as a guest network or Internet of Things network (IOT) depending on the brand and model that you buy.
