Peacock in my Browser (Firefox or Microsoft Edge)

Posts: 11 Participant

I can't get Peacock on my browser. I had an old Peacock Account with a plan that expire a while ago. Whenever I follow your link to get to Peacock I get my old (non Spectrum) account which does not offer the Premium (with ads) service. I tried to delete the old account, but despite going around for about an hour, there seemed no way to delete it or to contact them at all via email or chat. Peacock/Spectrum does work fine on my Samsung Smart TV, but I would also like to be able to access it on my PC. How do we fix this?

    Hi @bobjbkln!

    Sorry to hear that you're unable to access Peacock via your PC, we're happy to help! The fact that it's working on the Samsung TV is great, this confirms that the app itself with your Spectrum subscription is working. Which browser are you using on the PC? Have you tried another browser?

    I've tried both Firefox Version 137.0.2 and Microsoft Edge (Version 135.0.3179.73 (Official build) (64-bit). Note again when I click on your link I get to Peacock Premium attached to my old Peacock account. Signing out from that account does no good, because when I then try to use the Spectrum link, it re-signs me into that old account. Furthermore, on the Peacock site there is no way to delete that account or to contact Peacock to ask them to delete it.

    @bobjbkln ,

    Good Evening!

    Have you tried deleting Peacock's cookies in both Microsoft Edge and Firefox? Than reboot your PC. Don't just go back to Peacock's site without rebooting the PC first. My thinking is that there might be a stuck cookie from that old non-Spectrum account that isn't going away. Deleting Peacock's cookies will clear that old subscription cookie that you no longer use. You will need to delete Peacock's cookies in all browsers!

    After doing that, try signing up and I think you might have to fill out a form. Do that. Enter the same email address that you use to communicate with Spectrum. Than after doing that process, you should see a sign up with Provider prompt. Spectrum should be in that list Peacock will than "Merge" your Spectrum account credentials to its services. You than log in to Peacock with the same email and password you use for this forum

    Once you are registered, you can log in to Peacock/Spectrum with any browser on any device.

    No luck. Deleted the cookies in both Firefox and Edge. Rebooted. Used link from Spectrum site. Asked me to sign in. I did with an email address other than the one I associated with my old account. My old account still came up. There was no option to sign up using my Cable provider, just a choice of Premium or Premium plus.

    Are you saying that the old subscription was billed via a third party, you cancelled it, the last paid billing cycle has since expired, you were able to activate the new subscription via the activation link provided by Spectrum, and that same link now somehow redirects to the old subscription account, or what?

    Hi @bobjbkln,

    You might want to reach out to Peacock and say "I have an old Peacock account that I don't use anymore, and I am trying to delete that old account and set up a new Peacock account with Spectrum because I have a qualifying Spectrum Select TV plan. Despite deleting cookies on my PC, I am getting logged in with my old account information that I don't have anymore. How can I get my Peacock log in credentials to merge with Spectrum."

    Hey @bobjbkln, when you go to https://www.spectrum.net/manage/tv-streaming?configurationTypes=TV_STREAMING_PEACOCK do you still see a button to activate? Once activated it should show this instead;

    If you go to https://www.peacocktv.com/account/plans is this what you see?

    Thanks you for your attention, but the Peacock Help site you provided was useless. I had originally gone there, but the links from that site only provides contacts via Twitter (sic), Facebook and Instagram, none of which I use. The phone number and email links you provided were not on that site but currently only provide connections to their Sales site, Peacock Shops. When I called the number I got a recorded message to go to their (useless) Help site for assistance. Note that their FAQ does have a question on deleting one's account, but the answer only gives a link to its Privacy pages which unhelpfully does not provide any method for deleting an account. So, I have reached a dead end.

    Can you provide a screenshot please to the Community of what you see when you go to Peacock's site on your PC? Is it like what @William_M shows above? Or something different? What do your browsers show?

    Maybe the account can't be upgraded as desired as long as it's still signed into the app on the Samsung TV but who knows.

    But just because the chat service is operated by Salesforce doesn't mean the live agent it would be able to connect you with isn't a Peacock rep or, in any case, doesn't have the expertise and account access to hopefully be able to resolve the problem.

    Good evening @bobjbkln

    Thank you for the screenshot information. I would suggest reaching out to Spectrum Customer Care directly to activate your Peacock Subscription through Spectrum. That number is 833-516-2318. Let the CSR know that although you have a qualifying TV Select plan for Peacock and can stream Peacock on your Smart TV with the Spectrum app, that you can not access Peacock through any web browsers, because an old cancelled third-party Peacock subscription is "stuck" and you can't get Spectrum Peacock to merge with your browser. Let them know that you cancelled the third party subscription to Peacock a while ago.

    Hopefully, the CSR will be able to get your Peacock account merged through Spectrum, so that you can enjoy Peacock streaming across devices. By getting a Spectrum CSR to investigate this to your account, they should be able to get this working.

    I tried that Chat button. Clicking on show a visible button push, but no Chat window appears. I will call Sectrum and see what they can do.

    Thanks, I give them a call. Just a clarification, I did not get Peacock on my TV using the

    spectrum app. Rather, I used the Peacock app and signed in using the Cable Provider box.
