Spectrum Voice Customers Might Want to Review Your Call Guard Settings- Mine Were Off (May 21, 2025)

Hello all,

If you are a Spectrum Voice customer, you might want to log in to your account and check that your home phone Call Guard Settings are activated. I very rarely check those settings and today, (date in title) those settings were turned off. I also have Nomorobo activated, and noticed no strange calls on the line. If you are setting up Call Guard for the first time, the settings I use are:

Call Guard - On

Spam Risk- On

Spam Filtering- Medium (Not High, because when set to high our registration robocall prompt for medical verification code robocalls from our hospital for check-in appointments was getting blocked .)

I can’t make or receive calls on my house phone

    Welcome to the Community!

When you can't make or receive calls on your house phone, do you get a dial tone after placing a call and the call does not go through? Or is it a dead line right away when you use your receiver/speakerphone to make a call?

Are you a new Spectrum Voice Customer? Was the Spectrum Voice Service a self install or a professional install?

When did this start? Have you rebooted the modem and router? Do that if you haven't already. Reboot the modem first, wait for it to come back online. Than do the same with the router. If you have an older modem/router combo unit, just reboot that,

If the rebooting of equipment does not work, call Spectrum to get Spectrum Voice (landline phone help.) If this is a new/self install, the CSR may need to activate Spectrum Voice service on their end. If that fails, a service tech will be dispatched.
