My symmetrical internet speeds 400/400 are not symmetrical.
My January 2025 Spectrum statement announced that my internet speeds had been upgraded to 400 download/400 upload. Only recently had I decided to test them. The test revealed I was receiving 100+/- download and 400+/- upload speed coming from the modem. I power reset the modem several times but the result was the same.
I replaced the Spectrum modem with a new Spectrum modem. The result was the same.
I moved the modem to a different cable outlet in my home and rechecked. Now the download speed was 400+/- and the upload speed was 100+/-. Power resetting the modem did not change the results.
I began checking other cable outlets in my home and the results were high download and slow upload or vice versa.
This is most perplexing. Any ideas?

I urge you to schedule a tech service appointment in order to get your house cabling scheme perfected. Too many outlets = too many splitters = too much RF attenuation, and any unterminated splitter ports including splitter-connected outlets = too much RF ingress.

No, but there is an amplifier and 2 splitters in the attic that I can see.

There appears to be an issue with your modem. You can try exchanging your modem at a local store. If that does not resolve the issue, then you will need a service call. If you would like assistance setting up a service call, please let us know.

Could try bypassing unneeded splits to see if it stabilizes signal levels... provided it doesn't make the signal too strong and cause problems as well.
With normal splitters, each time a line is tapped into two lines the strength is halved....may not need an amplifier if it recovers enough signal by streamlining the lines. Open connected lines (not in use or properly terminated) are also potential points for noise/interference. The fewer potential points of problems the better.
