Got the 210 box

Kept my old box fav going as long as I could (don't remember the model #, it was the one with my beloved PIP). It finally died. The guide on the new one isn't as good. For sports, live games should be listed as live, as on the old guide. NEW does not always equal LIVE.

And the original airdate on show reruns is waaay harder to find.

    Hi Opus!

WOW! If you old box still had PIP, that is an old box!!! Congratulations for it lasting as long as it did!. I have had a 210 box for about two years. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it is easier to navigate than the new XUMO streaming boxes.

Actually, on my guide, Live Sports do show as "Live." Some channels show a live scoreboard as the game is in progress, Note that if you are recording the game, to prevent spoilers, the scoreboard will not be shown in the guide. Press Info to get more information about a program. The listings are very detailed in this regard.

    My Observations (Small Negatives)

1.) On Demand titles don't show their progress in "My Library" until about ten-fifteen minutes into the show. Hit the guide button, you get kicked out of your show, and if "My Library" does not have the show in progress, you have to go back and set it up again.

2.) One Standard Definition Channel (Flix) does not show in the keyboard search results.

3.) Sometimes, in keyboard searches, On Demand listings are shown twice.

    Great Positives

1.) Creating Watchlists and being able to add favorite content to it is amazing!

2.) The guide grid looks more modern than XUMO's guide grid.

Feature Request- Want to see Spectrum bring the free Spectrum Select TV package channels to the Spectrum Guide boxes! Work out a deal for this, please! Free Steaming Services for Spectrum Select TV package subscribers include HBO Mac, Paramount+, Disney+ AMC+, and Peacock. Notice that YouTube and Netflix are on the Spectrum Guide Channels. (Billed through YouTube and Netflix if you sign up for them.) These streaming services as of July 13, 2025) are only on the XUMO streaming boxes, select models of Smart TV's, the Spectrum app, and the company websites.

After experimenting, you’re right, live is there, you just need to go the extra step and push the INFO button.

I’ve resisted the urge to look into the XUMO boxes. I half expected the store guy to try and push it on me. Didn’t happen though.

I got one more question if anyone's out there. After rewinding live TV, old box/remote had a 'live' button to go back to live. Here I have to FF ahead to catch up again. Am I overlooking a quicker way to do it?

    Hey Opus!

I hate that there is no live TV button on the newer remotes! Story for you! When my old box died, the tech gave us the Arris 210 and we still have the amazing Clickr Backlite remote! And it works great with the box! He gave us a new Clickr Backlite remote.

I live with an elderly person who is used to the Clickr Backlite remote so I went to Amazon and got a spare Cliker Backlite remote for about $15. I have that stored away as an extra one.

I would get one for sure. I don't think Spectrum is giving these out anymore. Live TV button is there and works fine. B search and C don't do anything. Use Exit button to get out of menus or go back to previous screen. "A" is your Options menu. For Searching, use the Settings button to bring up Quick side menu or Menu button.

I am not sure but, I think on the modern remote the Middle button on the channel button goes back to your previous channel On the Clickr Backlite this is your "Last" channel button.

Anyway, here is the Amazon link to order the Clickr Backlite:

PS. Here is how to program the Clickr 5 Backlite remote:

I have had Samsung TV's for years, and Samsung is the default TV code for those remotes. Meaning that when you take it out of the box/bag and put in the batteries, everything works as it should. But I have added the instructions above just in case.

@opus : With the super-slick state-of-the-art black Spectrum Remote with the blue menu button, it's the nav-cluster down-arrow button that reverts playback to LIVE.

I went with the @Satch way, since I still have some of those remotes around. It's working for me.

@HT_Greenfield, I tried your directions but couldn't get it to work.

    O.K. I stand corrected. My bad. I'm a moron.

Note to self: everything the subject remote does with a DVR running the i-Guide software is definitely not necessarily everything it does with anything else!

If you have a World Box STB with its new remote running Spectrum Guide there is a somewhat clumsy (but effective) way to quickly return to "Live TV" without having to Fast Forward.

    1. The remote must be paired to the World Box via RF (radio frequency) not IR (infrared).
    2. Place your hand over or otherwise cover the IR emitter and press the "All" button and with the emitter still covered, immediately press "All" again. For each "All" Press, keep your hand over the IR emitter for a few seconds so any IR devices aren't effected, like your TV.

Doing this will cycle the World Box STB off and right back on and return everything back to live TV. It sure beats sitting with your finger on the Fast Forward button, especially when Live TV has been paused for a while.

Note: if you are using an non-World Box Remote, this won't work since they pair with the STB via IR.

    Good morning @catchtwentytwo!

That above method is still too awkward! Just go to Amazon and order the Clickr 5 remote aka the Clikr Backlite and you get your Live button back. The Spectrum Guide Development Team, should still find a way to program a Macro on the Spectrum Guide Remote for live TV quick access.

    @Satch,

We can send out a few different remotes, including the Clikr-5 for no charge.

Welcome!
