Private Voip not working

I recently converted from an expensive Spectrum Business Internet account to a lower cost Spectrum Consumer account and with that came the loss of a static IP and the typical dynamic IP. There were a lot of challenges to overcome but now they are almost all behind me.

The one remaining problem is that my private VOIP server no longer allows outgoing calls.

Spectrum tells me that there are no programmable functions of the cable modem and that they block nothing. INCOMING calls work fine …. but a SIP (port 5060) connection goes out my router and to the modem and then the Voip carrier says they receive nothing.

This points to the Cable Modem except I see no practical reason they'd block only OUTGOING ports.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Hi @dbdata

Welcome to our Community Forums! Sorry to hear that our phone service isn't working for you, I'm happy to help! You mentioned that you wire into your router, have you attempted a router bypass and connected to the modem directly then tried calling? This could help us to determine whether the issue is with the router or the modem.

Not sure I could do that. There is a fairly robust network on the inside of the router to just eliminate it all and connect the voip server directly to the modem.

AT PRESENT I just want to know if the consumer-grade cable modem that Spectrum supplies (or the cable network behind it) block or restrict any ports or protocols?

No worries, I certainly understand! We do not block and/or restrict any ports that would affect your ability to make outgoing calls.

Just to rule it out, have you verified the needed NAT Passthroughs are enabled on the router?
