Bad IP address location

I have tried everything to get this fixed. Google thinks my IP is address is in the Netherlands. I have tried submitting the Google form for them to fix it. It can be fixed on the Spectrum side as well, they need to inform Google of the location of this block of IPs. I have jumped through all of the Spectrrum hoops, replaced cable modem, been on the phone with clueless tech support people who try to blame my PC, gateway etc. I directly connect a laptop to the cable modem to show them, switch laptops etc. They just keep telling me to go and get a new cable modem, but the new one still gives me the same IP. This plays havoc with all of the Google services we use. Now I know it is a google/spectrum problem because all other location services besides Google show me in the correct place. (And yes no VPN is being used) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @CMHSpectrumguy;

    Welcome to the Community Forums. The IP address is assigned to your device from the main DHCP server and not from the modem. Changing your modem will not affect it. The IP Address can be changed by leaving your device disconnected from the internet for a long period. The amount of time you need to leave it disconnected can vary but it should be disconnected when the IP address has expired. You can view your router logs to determine when this is. This will allow our DHCP server to assign the IP Address to be assigned to another person.

    This also may resolve itself over time. The reason why this problem occurs is that we will purchase an IP Block that used to be used in another area. Internet sites and servers tend to be slow in updating location data. They are likely expecting the IP Address to still be used at the old location. They will eventually update their information and the issue will go away.
