DVR banner blocking the bottom of the screen

I usually DVR most sports so that I can jump ahead as needed…. however, when fast forwarding, the DVR puts this huge black banner on the bottom which says nothing but that takes up about the lower 20% of the screen…. unfortunately, that's usually where the scores and other information is posted so that when fast forwarding, I have to stop so I can see what "inning" or whatever it is, to know if I want to go forward more….

I think it would be great if Spectrum could either do something to shrink the banner, or maybe make it semi-transparent so that I can see where I'm at in whatever it is I'm fast forwarding without having to stop, watch, restart, stop, watch, restart….

I realize on the scale of important things this is just a "pet peeve" but I am the customer and I'm right.

    Hello there and Welcome!

    There's been customer debate over the banner over the years. Some like the current size and type because it is easiest to see for the elderly with aging eyes. Others want a smaller less-obtrusive banner.

    Spectrum's traditional box guide (Spectrum Guide) shows live scores of sporting events in the Time Grid, but only when the game is live. If you are recording the game, as a way to prevent spoilers, the scores will not show in the Time Grid.

    I think the best solution would be to provide a guide settings update that would allow either an opaque (can't see through) vs, transparent (can see through) channel banner that could be changed in settings.

    Push the red C button while ffwding. It will remove banner to see scores abd such.

    Whatever you do to dismiss the guide or the mini-guide without affecting any contemporaneous playback mode, should have the same affect with the playback progress banner. Which, for years and years, has been one quick hit of the EXIT button as far as i'm concerned. ☘️
