Bad TV picture
We've had Spectrum for years. We recently switched from a cable box to the Xumo box. Now, the picture gets delayed and pixilated anytime the weather isn't perfect. Any way around this?

Hello @Parrishgirl
Welcome to our community! There can be a few things that can cause the pixilation. Does the pixilation only happen when the weather is bad or do you notice it at other times as well?

Hello and Welcome to our Spectrum Community, @Parrishgirl!
The XUMO boxes, unlike the traditional cable boxes, and DVR's are totally signal dependent based on the strength of your Internet connection. This is extremely likely that there is a problem with your signals. The weather issue you describe really hits home to this being the problem.
You will need a service call for a tech to check your signals and drop lines. There may be corrosion in the lines due to bad weather/aging wiring over the years. Traditional boxes are more tolerant of that kind of thing. XUMO's are not. Your tech may need to replace a line. But you will need an on-sight visit to get that checked.
If the tech visit does not help, Spectrum offers Internet WIFI range expander booster pods for a minimal monthly fee to help with poor Internet signals. You can connect these to any Internet device that has signal issues due to poor or fluctuating Internet. XUMO has to have strong Internet consistently to work properly.
You can also buy a WIFI range expander from Amazon TP Link is a good company. They run between $25-50. But do the service call first to set up a signal and drop line test.
