I read somewhere spectrum mobile is doing away with hard data caps? Is this true or just a hoax?

Thank you.

    Good evening @Mac41l

Thank you for reaching out to us about changes to our mobile data limits. We never had a cap on overall data amount used, but speeds would be reduced once you met the data usage threshold for your plan. Going forward, speeds will not be reduced once you hit that threshold, but you are subject to lower network priority in times of network congestion, which could then impact speeds in those instances. The part still in effect would be when used as a mobile hotspot.

So no hard throttling, just deprioritization? Will this be for the 40 dollar plan (single line), as well?

Correct, going forward, it will be deprioritization rather than hard throttled. It will be for both Unlimited and Unlimited Plus, the only difference would be that for Unlimited the deprioritization will being after 30GB has been used, where it's after 50GB of usage.
