Why was WMYD (channels 6/206) removed from the Detroit area channel lineup?

Good evening @TMNovi and Welcome to our Community Forums,
Thank you for contacting us about the missing channel. Scripps changed this station to The Spot, which is an affiliation that Spectrum does not have the right to continue carrying.Β As a result, we will no longer carry [WNPX/WMYD] and its multicast channels. Please let us know if you have any other questions. -Lyn

Edit: Feel free to share what if any kind of an announcement appears on screen for that channel if you've a mind to. Probably just another (at least the third one of late) contract dispute between E. W. Scripps and re-distributors concerning WMYD.

Iβm not sure if this is just a Scripps issue since WXYZ is a Scripps station and not affected. Would be nice to get an answer, I contacted Spectrum and was told they did not even know it had been removed. The announcement that appears is: βProgramming on this network is no longer availableβ

Thank you. I get the same message.

@Bradley_D : WXYZ-TV is presumably an ABC affiliate that is owned and operated by E. W. Scripps and WMYD is the ATSC 3.0 broadcast "lighthouse" for WMYD, WXYZ, WDIV, WWJ and WJBK.

You'll always be pretty hard-pressed to get either side of a carriage contract dispute - assuming that's what this is - to disclose what the catches are but i could see the following development being a factor:
