CC disabled, but Peacock app still displays them
When playing any show on the Peacock app on my Xumo, closed captioning (CC) displays even though captioning is turned off using the Xumo remote. Here are the details of my testing of the issue when playing episodes on Peacock:
- CC is displayed asynchronously, either ahead of, or behind, the program.
- CC alternates between the top and bottom of the screen and also displays over inserted commercials.
- When I switch to another 3rd party app, such as Paramount, the CC issue goes away. It's limited only to this app.
- When I switch back to Peacock and resume the program I left to go to the other app, the CC isn't displayed for the remained of the episode. It displays again when a new episode begins playing.
- CC displays normally on Spectrum live TV, and the CC on/off toggle works as expected.
Any advice on how to deal with this Peacock issue?

Hi @briantimm
Have you tried reinstalling / updating the Peacock App or restarting the XUMO?

As mentioned, this is a known issue with Peacock on the Xumo currently. As a Peacock issue, this is being addressed on their end.

I updated the app. (You can't delete/reinstall on XUMO, only update.) I also restated XUMO. Problem still exists.

Do any of the other apps on the Xumo behave in the same manner where the CC is there even if it's turned off? Or on another device entirely like a smart phone, etc, do the CC show on those devices when you try to watch Peacock?
