can't access email when traveling

I've had to travel a lot lately to help my aging parents. When I try to access my spectrum email when I'm with them, I'm get an error code and told I need to wait until I'm at home or asked to verify my identity through email codes. Clearly the codes won't help if I can't access them and I can't switch to another email because what I'm looking for is sent to my spectrum email account.
I didn't have this problem before the less than ideal "upgrade" (and I use "upgrade" loosely because every other day there seems to be a new problem signing in)
What do I need to do to access email from a different location other than my home?
Sadly, I'm in an area with little choice over who supplies my internet access and I have too many trees for satellite to work properly.

    Hi & welcome!

    Email access is only limited when traveling outside the US. You may be asked to authenticate if you are using a device that is not recognized. If you log into the device while on your home network, this should meet the authentication requirements. You can also log into spectrum.net or the My Spectrum App and change the recovery or verification method. The most convenient option is usually to a mobile phone, and that will allow you to authenticate on a different device while away from home. You can also use an email client like gmail or outlook to access email away from home.

    I don't seem to have that setting I have pin number and account security question, but maybe since the spectrum account is in my husband's name and registered under is email and phone number and mine is a secondary email address, I don't get that option?

    As you may have by now surmised, you can find and massage and get verified [❗️] if needs be, your potentially situation-critical contactual phone number(s) and email address(es) under the Your Info tab.

    However, you might need to wait until the next time your device is on the de facto home Internet of record in order to do that as well, and if your role is standard rather than admin, then maybe the account holder has to do that for you with their primary role.
