Communication between Spectrum landline answering machine and voicemail

Over the weekend I disconnected my landline and answering machine. A call went to my Spectrum voicemail. Upon returning home, I deleted the voicemail on Spectrum. However, I still have the following message on my phone: Voice mail msg via phone company. Ask phone company for voicemail access #". There are no voicemails left on Spectrum. Any ideas how to clear my phone?
