Deleted voicemail still appearing on Spectrum landline

Over the weekend I disconnected my landline phone and its connected answering machine. A call came in while I was gone and went to Spectrum voicemail. Upon my return I recoonect the equipment and deleted the voicemail from my Spectrum account. However, my telephone is still displaying "Voice mail msg via phone co. Ask phone company for VM access #". There are no voicemail in my Spectrum queue. How do I get rid of my telephone display message?
