In 2026, why is the Spectrum TV app streaming still limited?

When I am away from home and wish to watch the channels I have at home, many of them are still greyed out due to the "you are not at home" issue.

This day and age, there is no technical reason to limit streaming a channel to wherever I may be while travelling for business or pleasure. Competitor services do not have such restrictions.

Why is this still a policy?

Hey @MikeD1976, welcome to our community! I understand it's inconvenient to have the at-home restriction. You are right that it is not a technical limitation, it is due to our contract agreements with the individual TV networks and us being a cable TV provider. Many of the networks with that restriction have their own app you can access using your Spectrum username and password without location restrictions. I can certainly forward feedback about this so we can hopefully change how it works in the future.
