This idicoy has made me decide to cut the cord.
Started implementing our Google home systems and hooking them into the TVs. Of course the set top boxes have zero integration and changing channels is FUBAR since I can't plug directly into a TV.
Honestly, using YouTube TV with basically limitless cloud DVR capability and integration with Alexa and Google Home makes it a no brainer.
What exactly do these boxes offer customers? How does it make anything better.
