Getting New Samsung TV Next Week Paring it with An Arris 210 DVR

Guys,
I should be getting a new Samsung TV next week. I will be pairing it with my Arris-210 DVR and Spectrum Guide. Are there any settings on the TV that I should be aware of to turn on or off for a smooth operating experience at set up? I don't know what model it will be, I am swapping it out through the five year Best Buy Geek Squad extended warranty plan.
On my current old Samsung Series 8, I turned off the Any Net functionally and disabled run Smart Hub at Startup. What works best for you with this brand of TV and box configuration. I still have my older Clickr 5 remote because I don't like the remotes that come with the World Boxes.
