how do I get a updated router

    Welcome @Butterflytwin!

    You have some options:

    If you own your router, buy an upgraded router. Please post a request for compatible new routers that work on Spectrum's network, to make sure you get one that works with their network.

    If you rent a router from Spectrum, set up a service call to get a new router.

    Important Note: Any time you are having a problem with Spectrum related equipment, signals, or lines. those service calls are always free. However, if you are not having a problem with your existing equipment, such as a rented Spectrum router, you may be charged a service call fee for the upgrade.
