Why is the light on my Spectrum ONU Modem slowly blinking red yet the internet is working fine
I asked this question before and then it got closed when the only answer was a suggestion to reboot the modem and my Linksys router. I've done that but before long the router light goes back to blinking red. The manual says that means the PON is not operational. The internet is working fine but I'm thinking something is wrong. Could someone from Spectrum answer my question or when they're too hard do you just close the discussion?

Hello @Unio_Villager
I am happy to look into this for you. You mentioned the modem light being red in the title. However, in your post you mention the router's light being red. Can you verify which piece of equipment has the red light?

My bad. The problem is the modem. The modem light blinks red. Sometimes red then white then red, etc. When I posted the question earlier the modem was blinking red slowly. Then after a bit it went back to solid blue. This sems to happen sporadically but frequently and sometimes I lose the internet connection for a few minutes.

Thank you for clarifying! It sounds like the modem is losing connection for a short time and reconnecting. Have you tried to manually reset the modem by unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds then plugging it back in?

Yes, I've tried that several times over the past couple of months. Spoke with tech help this morning as it was going on again and they've directed me to the Spectrum store to get a new modem. I' guessing that is the issue since a tech came out a week ago and everything is good into the house and to the modem.
