intermittent internet connection follow up
I have posted here a week ago for intermittent internet connection but no longer to find the discussion so I have to open a new one. One of the customer service rep here in the forum said he saw the modem registered a few timeout issue and a service call will be required. A technician was sent to my home and he said the issue was outside my home so he escalated to another maintenance team. Later the day, another maintenance technician knocked my door and said he couldn't find any issue out there so he closed the ticket. The issue is still going on (randomly) and when the issue happens, the internet connection will stop completely for around a minute (all ping time out and no internet activity) then came back normal.

Hey Matt,
How old is your modem/router? I upgraded from my Spectrum's older Doc Sis 3.0 modem and my Arris router to a new one from Spectrum, the 3.1 version. Internet is now more stable and seems faster. Did you get the free upgrade notice? If you're outside is OK when techs are there, you might be getting little random timeouts due to aging equipment. It wasn't happening a ton with my older equipment, but there wee little periods of latency and downtime. If you rent your modem from Spectrum, you should inquire about the upgrade. If you own your equipment, you could get a new modem/router, but you should post here the model number of the equipment that you plan to buy so that a moderator can check if it's on Spectrum's approved list for their updated networks.
It seems that the turn around time for a lot of technology hardware replacements averages to about six years, My old Spectrum modem was about that age. The router was about three years old and was mine, but Spectrum will send you a modem and router, and I decided to pay the added WIFI $7.00 charge, to make it easier for Spectrum to come out to fix things if problems occur.

I am on a gig plan and the modem is Spectrum 3.1 modem and just recently swapped out (ES2251/EN2251). I am a tech guy and I invest money in my home network equipment and using all Unifi equipment. I am currently using Dream Machine Pro from Unifi and the gateway (router) is less than a year old. The Unifi gateway I am using has a failover feature which I am using: when there is a connection issue on the Spectrum internet, it will failover to the backup connection on T-Mobile 5G. The rep here is able to see my modem has time out issue that's why a tech was sent out.

Hey there!
Absolutely! I can confirm there is something on the schedule for today. Should you need to reschedule, you can do so on the My Spectrum app.
