Has there been progress on resolving the recent third-party mail client issue with RoadRunner?
Like a number of other affected customers, several weeks ago, on the same day as others, I too lost Roadrunner email server connectivity using third-party programs on several devices; two iPhones (iOS 16.7.10 and higher) and a desktop Outlook client. Please note that I contacted Spectrum Tech Support several times for help, reset my password several times, verified server settings, etc. I am also not having any problem accessing Spectrum Webmail using the revised, one-password Spectrum.net webpage. With a lot of expert head-scratching, it was suggested that I wait a week or so and see if the issue resolved itself, ostensibly by Spectrum IT. Btw, I also visited the local Spectrum store and even sought out help from a "big box" electronics tech support familiar with setting up new phones - all to no avail. The iPhone error I get repeatedly states, "Cannot Get Mail, the username or password for "Roadrunner" is incorrect".
I recall in at least one past discussion thread that the older Roadrunner email password might be the culprit as it might not have been successfully purged from the Incoming Server credentials when the Spectrum website and password were "merged" with Webmail. Is there anything to this? I'd really appreciate it if one of the Spectrum representatives would double-check with their IT folks and see if there is a fresh tech alert addressing this bug, and ideally, a fix. Thank You.

Hi & welcome!
If you are able to access email using Webmail, then our email is working as intended.
The issue identified is with Microsoft Outlook and we have no control over this third party email client, any fix will need to come from Microsoft. Others have reported that reinstalling a backward compatible previous version of Outlook has been a functional workaround.

the issue isn't limited to just outlook. apple email , Samsung and every other 3rd party application is getting the same error message. On that note, your own sites, webmail.spectrum.net and selfceare.rr.com don't work as well. Can we get some real help here? I already wasted 40 minutes on the phone earlier today to no avail.

All invested parties - I went at it again but this time I successfully solved the problem, and maybe yours. Now iPhone and Outlook are back up and handling Roadrunner mail, problem free. The root of the problem in my case was determining that the old Spectrum Webmail portal was actually still alive and functioning, at least somewhat, and causing problems. Apparently, the "old" Webmail credentials were superseding the new Spectrum account password and preventing the new credentials from being recognized when entered with the IMAP settings on my two third-party clients. Here is what I did; I accessed the old webmail portal (https://webmail.spectrum.net/mail/auth) and at the login screen, selected Forgot Password, which takes the user to a screen to reset it. Here is the important step - ENTER YOUR new Spectrum.net password as the "new" Webmail PW - don't create anything different or new. I gave it a few hours to sync just be safe, and then proceeded to once again add the Roadrunner accounts to both iPhone and Outlook which I had previously deleted. Voila! the mail app started right up, and the emails began to flow in once again. Fingers crossed, but so far all is well.
