Jitter in MO/IL

@James_L It's stable so far this afternoon. I can wait until a turbulent period if you require but here's the results from today. (It's the same route as in my initial post).

My last post got deleted, and I got banned and unbanned?

Anyway, @William_M @James_L here's ping and traceroutes to 8.8.8.8 today. These are more in line with what I normally see instead of the giant ones from Monday.

    Good afternoon,

Sorry for the issue posting here on this Community. We have been experiencing some technical issues this week that have resulted in posts being deleted and users being banned in error. The issue causing the error has been fixed. Your profile has been unbanned and I recreated the posts that I could salvage above. You are welcome to repost the information deleted in error.

Looking at the tracerts you provided, there is not an apparent issue, they look normal. If you are able to capture a tracert that demonstrates the issue described, please let us know.

    Thanks!

@James_M Thanks for restoring it as best you could.

Did you look at the trace8888.txt one? I'm at work now so I can't look at my copies, and it looks like the one here might have gotten corrupted/lost.

I can reupload in a few hours. I believe that one showed an unstable 40ish ms ping (which isn't a lot, I understand, but it is enough to cause rubber-banding when it jumps from 20ish).

Yes, please upload again when you can. As a general rule of thumb however, anything under 100ms is considered "acceptable" and anything under 60ms is considered "good", but we can definitely take another look.

Here's a tracert direct connected to the modem as requested. The ping from modem appears to have not save correctly. 🤷No idea what happened there, but I assume I just screwed up. Tonight's ping results so far are 100% good.

Here's the requested tracert results to 8.8.8.8 while directly connected to the modem as requested. Tonight's ping results so far are completely normal. I appear to have accidentally overwritten the ping results.

@James_M @William_M But seriously, this is unacceptable. The averages look fine, sure — but the spikes in pings are clearly contemporaneous with spikes in UDP stream latency. I don't start these tests until I start seeing spikes in game or on video calls. When I have done it while experiencing smooth UDP streams I don't see these massive spikes in latency either to the hops or to the destination.

I don’t know what magic words I need to say to get someone to take this seriously, but I’m getting pretty close to switching to a 5G hotspot, because honestly, I'm having trouble imagining it's much worse.

Talking with Spectrum’s Twitter support led to suggestions of "mitigation issues," but that doesn't make much sense to me when the issue is affecting multiple services and I'm seeing contemporaneous ping and UDP spikes across the board.

The agent on X gave some solid instructions on how to run a trace route to the Blizzard server and the other servers. Once you've completed the trace routes, please post them. You can post them here or on X, whichever you prefer, but we ask that you choose one or the other to prevent a duplication of effort.

    Thanks!
