upper limit on the number of episodes recorded ???

New cable box doesn't let me set an upper limit on the number of episodes recorded, like the previous box.
If I want to record JUST today's nightly news, and overwrite that single episodes tomorrow, I used to be able to do that. Never had to think about. Ever.
For some reason they have deleted this capability ?
If I record a series, I have to remember to delete ALL MY Series before I go away for 3 weeks ? or remember to manually set to record the new show EVERY DAY for the rest of my life ?
This just can't be right. god forbid you set it for Law & Order, you'd have 1500 episodes in 3 days.
I mean it isn't a HW issue, it just seems like a SW no brainer.

Hello @satyricon
Great post! I too miss the episode limit for number of episodes to keep. The older guide software (ODN) was perfect for keeping track of this for saving storage space. You could save series recording for 3, 5, 7, or all episodes. This feature was absolutely perfect for saving drive space, or for recording series episodes that were not "new." Now, with New Spectrum Guide software any syndicated show, that is never flagged as new, you go away for three weeks or more, you come home to a DVR filled with episodes. With the new software, even "New" episode on series have no max, number to save limit.
I submit that the Spectrum Guide.new boxes need a "Series episodes to keep: option" Please forward this feedback to the Guide Development Team!

Hello @satyricon
See my post above yours as I also would like a Max Series Episodes to keep like the older software. Your post and reasoning about this is excellent.
