Why is spectrum internet having issues with ping in near servers but better in far away servers?

Hi, we play a lot of video games in our house, and we've been having issues with the internet only working on certain servers, which greatly affects our time. We are paying for the highest plan with a 1 GB download speed, which speed test often says we have. But even when it's coming back good, we have a hard time connecting to a nearby server. Here is a photo from Valorant, one of the games we play. The first one is what we are currently getting, and another is a photo from someone who lives less than a mile away. What is happening? Why is our thing only good in Oregon? We are way closer to Texas.

Hello @sharedd9302;
Welcome to the Community Forums. I can understand the concern about high pings while gaming. I checked your Spectrum equipment and I am not seeing any obvious problems with the modem or cable signals. I also tested the speeds on the router and it is running where it should be. High pings can be a network routing issue and it would be helpful if you run a few trace routes to the game servers and post the results here. We will review the results to see where the problem may be located.

Thank you for the trace routes. The trace routes are showing they leave our network quickly. They do spike when they reach the game server. It is possible that the game's server that is connecting from our side is having an issue. I would recommend you reach out to the game company to look into the issue further.
