TCM Roku app stuck on spinner: Possible solution that works for me
8/11/25 There's been an ongoing problem with the TCM Roku app being stuck at startup, with a spinning circle. Both TCM and Roku are well aware of it. Neither has offered any solution thus far. Here is the fix that worked for me. We have two Roku user ids, and about 6 Rokus that are Sticks or Express ranging from the 3600x Stick to the very newest 4k Stick. And all of them had the spinner issue and this is how I cured it. There's a thread open under "known issues" on the Roku Community board.

TLDR Summary: Do a factory reset on one Roku, then do a clear-cache on all the other Rokus that use that same user id. Repeat this for any other user id and its Rokus in the household. This totally fixed TCM on all of my 6 standalone Rokus, and 2 user ids. Can't vouch for Roku TVs because I don't have any to experiment on. NOTE: Restart the Roku and simply clear the cache did NOT work. It took a factory reset on one Roku to reset my userid(s), then I could just reset the cache on the others and that would suffice to get TCM running again.

IF YOUR ROKU TCM APP STILL STALLS: *** Exactly what I did on 8/9/25 night, and it's stayed fixed as of 8/11: Pick your most sacrificial Roku unit and do a Factory Reset on it. I had an old 3600x Stick sitting unused, so that's the one I used to do a factory reset on each userid. That way I avoided having to totally totally rebuild logins and home screen arrangements on all 6 good Rokus!
If you have more than one Roku user id, you will need to do a factory reset once for every user id, but probably only clear the cache on the other Roku players. With the Roku TVs, I've heard from one person who said he needed to factory reset each TV. I only have Sticks and one Express, no TVs.
After the reset, TCM app showed the spinner briefly then moved on to the screen with the Accept button. I Accepted, and the TCM app then started up normally and ran normally. ***
(Then for the other units in the house: Only my newest 4K Stick started up TCM without clearing cache, but the others all needed a clear-cache, not just a restart.)Clear the cache, on each Roku. That should fix it Some of mine needed cache cleared, one didn't. Restarting the Roku(s) did not work.
CLEAR CACHE PROCEDURE:
Go to Home screen.
Press the Home key 5 times
Press Up purple key 1 time
Rewind 2 times
Fast forward 2 times.
Then the Roku should hang a while, not responding to keys on remote. (3600x Stick will immediately reboot, then hang there a long time with a black screen before it reboots.) Then Roku reboots itself. You can Google Roku clear cache and find more "hidden" menus. But that's the really useful one. After the reboot, the TCM app should show the spinner briefly then offer the screen with the Accept button. Or at least that's how it worked for me with standalone Roku players. You Roku TV people can report on how yours behaves.
