Internet Speeds

My Spectrum service provides up to 600 Mbps speed. I get that on my phone. But I am only able to get less than 100 Mbps to my Roku Ultra, even when hooked up with a wired Lan. I have checked connections and reset the modem, router, and Roku device itself. Any ideas? Thank you.

    Hello @Cruel_Sun;

    Welcome to the Community Forums. Since you are seeing good speeds on your phone then that indicates that there is likely not a problem on the modem itself. I also reviewed your modem and I am not seeing any obvious issues. This could have a couple possible causes. If this is an older Roku then it may not be cable of getting the full internet speeds. You can look up the stats of the Roku model you have to see what it is capable of. It is also possible that your router settings maybe incorrect. The settings on the ethernet interface maybe incorrect. You can contact the company that makes the router for instructions on how to check the settings.

    Hi @Cruel_Sun! I'm not familiar with the Roku Ultra but Google says the wired connection is 10/100 so that may explain the wired speed. Google also lists the Wi-Fi as Wi-Fi 6 which can provide more than 100 Mbps but signal variables are many. Any wireless signal strength feedback from the Roku?

    It also looks like the Roku supports USB 3.0 . Does the Roku support USB ethernet adapters? You may find one that is gigabit.

    Thank you, @Vinnie_T. I'm not super tech savvy. Are you suggesting I connect my ethernet cable to an adapter that feeds into the USB port? Will that be possibly faster?

    Hey @Cruel_Sun, that was exactly what I was suggesting IF the Roku supported it. I've never owned a Roku but have owned other streaming devices. Looks like though you're not alone taking issue with the wired speeds https://www.google.com/search?q=roku+ultra+gigabit+ethernet .

    Again, I've never owned a Roku, but one of the links from the Google search has a post from a user who claimed even USB connection maxs out at 180mbps. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there is currently a wired solution. Maybe the next version of the Roku will come with gigabit ethernet.

    @Cruel_Sun : Says here that even 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos typically requires no more than 25 Mbps and that the Rokus that do support Ethernet adapters only support ones that only do 10/100:
