Man claiming to work for Spectrum for utility pole inspection

I have had a man show up two times in an unmarked white pickup with a light claiming to having been hired to do a safety inspection on the utility pole in my backyard on behalf of Spectrum. I called spectrum there was no order for my house they could find but they said they might not necessarily know. I am not opening the door until I know this person is legitimate. Their hang tag they left says Mi Tech and that it’s on behalf of spectrum. How can I determine if this is a real contractor hired by Spectrum? I don’t even see how they would do the inspection on a regular pickup so I’m not wanting to open the door even if they come again unless I know they are legitimate.

    Good afternoon and welcome @User8788,

I certainly understand the concern and being cautious. That is a valid contractor listed as performing service for us, and they do list pole integrity/inspection services on their own site. Construction and maintenance related work wouldn't be listed on individual accounts. This shouldn't be anything they'd need access inside your home to complete, but if our infrastructure exists in easements that we can't readily access, such as fenced backyards, they may need access from you.
