edited February 2 in Network Evolution

We received a text saying the were going to upgrade our network between Feb 2- 5. The additional info was vague.

Any idea what they are actually doing?

I'm already on gig service.

    Likely work to put new hardware in place to support the new high split/symmetrical speeds that are getting rolled out between now and 2027. They have to get a lot of infrastructure level stuff in place before the logical changes can be made.

    There is a stickied post here they periodically update when some areas have significant changes. But you may get a notice in your bill when the major changes are about to be brought online for your market.

    Keep in mind it can be pretty big changes across more than just your local market to make it all work though. So, it could be 6 months (or longer) before you see it come to fruition even after such physical changes show up there for your market.

    @gzt7d8,

    @RAIST515O is correct, this is what the notice was for and this is the post they referenced regarding the upgrades taking place.

    Thank you for your replies, @RAIST515O and @Mo_S

    Frankly, our area seems to out of the way, not a big metropolitan area like Grand Rapids so I was surprised to read your response.

    Yes, I understand the timeframe, but it is still something to look forward to.

    Thanks again,
