Why my HP printer now longer connects to wifi direct

My HP Envy 6000 printer quit printing from my mobile phone. Wifi direct no longer shows connected on the printer. It worked up to about 4 days ago. Even our desk computer shows that the printer isnt connecting to direct signal. Did Spectrum run an upgrade that now won't recognize older equipment?

    Good morning and welcome @Redpiglet,

For wifi direct on your printer, this is a direct connection between your devices and the printer where you access the printer directly via it's own broadcast wifi connection, not network connected through the internet. For that, you'd need to consult HP for assistance in enabling or troubleshooting this feature, possibly something included in the device manual. Their setup article may also help.

Reviewing your router connection, I'm not showing a printer being connected to your wifi network, or by ethernet to the router. It's not even shown in a disconnected state as would occur if it was connected previously and went offline. As of now on wifi, there are 2 Roku devices, 2 Samsung phones, a Sleep Number device and a PC via ethernet connected through the router, with an LG TV currently disconnected/turned off. This would seem to confirm you're using the printer through a direct connection and have not enabled it as a network/internet connected device.
