Internet service has had two extended outages this week, one beginning on Tuesday the 19th starting at 5pm and service was restored around 2am and again on Thursday the 21st beginning around 4:30 and service was restored around 2 or 3 am. Internet has been going out intermittently all morning so far today and I suspect this will likely continue for days if not weeks. The reason given was a power outage both days, then last night was later said to be weather related. There was a power outage not far from my neighborhood Tuesday but I didn’t see anything yesterday. There was a downpour in the area last night, so fair enough.

I know I’m yelling into the void here and this is probably the wrong forum for this anyway, but some kind of update even if it’s something as simple as “we have technicians in your area assessing the issue and working to get it resolved as soon as possible.”

It just seems like a pretty big coincidence to have power outages at the exact same time two days apart, so if this is actually planned maintenance then it would be helpful to know that, so that I can make arrangements to work somewhere with working Internet rather than having to scramble during the workday.

And honestly even if the issue is on spectrum’s end and not due to weather or a power outage, I don’t care about trying to get a credit for the outage, it’s not worth the hassle to try to get $4 credited off my bill. It would just be nice to get some sort of update.

    Good afternoon and welcome @MK1984,

I'm sorry you've been having issues with our service recently. Reviewing the issue from Tuesday, it did appear to be an issue related to power supply equipment which was addressed at that time. Yesterday, this was listed as a commercial power outage in the area impacting our service as well. Today a section of cable was replaced that supplies power from the supply to the node as it was shorting out and causing the issues you saw this morning, possibly being damaged from the other power issues that took place. None of the events were something planned. I did go ahead an apply available credit that would reflect on your next statement.
