Security Shield falsely blocking legitimate website — recategorization request
I'm a Spectrum customer trying to read a review on https://www.criticschronicle.com/, an arts and culture magazine I follow, but Security Shield giving the following response when I search it:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
www.criticschronicle.com sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
I reached out to the site, and they submitted an unblock request with you all (ID: 102035179) — it was denied by automated review.
This is a false positive. It's a legitimate art and culture publication hosted on Squarespace, with editorial content only, and it loads fine on every non-Spectrum network I've tried. An independent multi-vendor scan also shows it clean across all major security vendors.
Could a human please re-review and remove criticschronicle.com from the Security Shield block list? Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community!
I do apologize for the issues you're having with the site being blocked by our security shield. At this time we do not have a way to manually review these requests.
However I just checked the URL with our security shield check and it states the site should be able to be accessed now.
Can you try to access the site while using the Spectrum network?

I just checked again on our site that you can check here it shows that the site is not being blocked. However the unblocking of a site can take up to 48 hours once approved.

May have been an issue with it's SSL certificate... validity check from Let's Encrypt in Firefox reported validity from June 20, 2026 to Sept. 18, 2026.
myip.ms also noted it got reported/blacklisted 11/18/2020 for spamming.
Could be some old data still floating around out there.

Two security vendors at Virus Total list the site as malicious.
