Commercials and raised volume

Hey all!

I have Spectrum Xumo's in my house. I notice that whenever a commercial plays the TV's volumne increases. Annoyingly loud too! Looked thru the XUMO and played with all the audio choices. Anyone have a suggestion to remedy this?

    Hey @Don1323, welcome to our community! Commercials on TV are required to be the same average volume as the regular programming, but perceived loudness can be different than actual volume and commercial makers often make the sound as loud as possible while staying under the allowed limit. We do actively monitor for violations but otherwise we don't have control over the programming or audio levels, and the rules do not apply to streaming. Your TV might have an audio normalization option, but the Xumo does not. If there's a specific commercial, or commercials on a particular channel, that seem substantially louder than others please let us know which ones and we can review it.
