No or little sound on one channel - what's the problem?

I wanted to watch a movie on MOVIES! which is carried by the local affiliate in Albany, NY WNYA-DT2. When the movie plays, there 's no sound. During commercials there is background music but inaudible words. I rebooted my cable box, but it didn't help. I tried calling the station (518-207-4700), but I get a message, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed."

    I finally called tech support. After a few attempts to resolve the issue, the person that helped me said he tried to watch that channel and there was no sound. They are going to try and report it to the broadcast station which is local. You'd think the station would know about it and be trying to fix it.
