International (e.g., Asia) phone calls with Spectrum's landline home phone service questions.

Hello,

I'm getting various confusing answers and no solutions about making international phone calls outside of North America like China.

  1. Is it true that I have to get Spectrum's $5 per month International Calling Plan addon to unblock the outgoing international phone calls like to China? That is what the online chat agent said earlier and even tried to order it (told him NO since I didn't confirm this order). I just wanted to allow making outgoing International phone calls to China.
  2. Another online chat agent said up to $3.50 per minute for a China phone call. According to https://buyflow-prod-component.phoenix.spectrum.com/assets/production/files/Spectrum_International_RatesChart.pdf from https://www.spectrum.com/home-phone web page, it is only a couple pennies per minute. Is this PDF file still accurate and updated? If not, then where is the correct pricing list?

This is very confusing and frustrating. Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon.

    It does look like there was an international call block on your account. I've placed an order to remove it. Please let us know when you've had an opportunity to test it.

    The order should already be completed, I don't believe it will send you any notifications. Yes that link has accurate information.

    They've got access charges to pay and they pay them the same way. Per minute as in whole minutes regardless of how much or little of the nth minute is actually used.

To confirm, are you inquiring about international calling for Spectrum mobile service or Spectrum Voice (home phone service)?

    Whoops, sorry for the confusion. The international calling plan is not required, you should still be able to place calls with per-minute charges. Did this work previously? Do you get an error message?

    Thanks. Yes, the automated answer said the outgoing international phone call is blocked. I was told this need to be unblocked. How? I don't see that option in my app and web site account. Where is it?

    From what I read online, international call blockage is on by default. Thank you, but how long will it take the unblock order to complete? Will there be a notification of its completion? Also, is it confirmed to be two pennies per minute to China as shown in https://buyflow-prod-component.phoenix.spectrum.com/assets/production/files/Spectrum_International_RatesChart.pdf? If not, then what is it?

    @William_M or any Spectrum employee mod, good morning. Can you please kindly check to see if it is unblocked since you were able to check earlier before I retry later (can't now)?

    FYI. It works calling out. Didn't do a long call yet. Just a quick test. I hope I didn't get charged under a minute. I don't see it shown in my account's phone history since it says it can take up to four hours to show up.

    Question about last night's quick 11 seconds test call to China, I saw the two pennies charge. Shouldn't that be after a minute and not under a minute?
