Maintaining My VIP Ring Feature

I need some feedback from the Spectrum Support Community to help resolve an issue I am having with my Spectrum Home Phone service. For over a month I have been unable to manage the VIP Ring feature for my home phone using either the Spectrum app on my iPhone or the Spectrum web site on my laptop. For example, if I use the Spectrum app and go to Services/Home Phone/Manage Settings/VIP Ring I see that my VIP Ring option has been turned off. When I try to turn it back on I get an error saying "Something went wrong Your changes to VIP Ring could not be saved. Please try again". I've talked to a Spectrum rep three times about this issue and I'm not convinced they have a handle on the problem. The first time I called the Spectrum rep was unable to provide any help other than to open a ticket on the problem. The second time I called the Spectrum rep was convinced I needed a new modem but at the last minute changed his mind, saying he had determined it was a known problem and Spectrum was working on it (because they opened a ticket from my first call?). The third time I called for a status update I got the same response - "A known problem being worked on".

So my question is this. Is there ANYONE else out there who uses the VIP Ring feature, and are you able to turn it on and off and enter your VIP phone numbers using the Spectrum app or web site without any problems? If nobody else is having problems then it has to be my equipment and I can push to get a new modem. On the other hand, if others are having the same issue then I'll just need to be patient and wait for Spectrum to fix their system. Thanks for your feedback.

Sorry, I don’t understand. Are you referencing my earlier post on the same issue? What I’m hoping to find out is if anyone besides me uses the VIP Ring feature, and do they have the same problem as me maintains the settings or not. I apologize if I misunderstood.

My bad for not realizing the obvious similarity between the usernames of the two different forum accounts by which you've discussed this. I'm a moron. 😵‍💫

If anybody else has the same issue, i hope they say something if they see either one of your discussions about it while they remain open. ☘️

Hey @mhesprich@twc.com! You are welcome to try exchanging your modem at one of our store locations, but I'm doubtful that would fix this issue. I did find a ticket for a known issue with this feature which our engineers are working to resolve as soon as possible.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not convinced either that exchanging my modem will fix anything. That’s why I asked if anyone else is experiencing the problem. If I can get just 1 person to say they’re experiencing the same problem then I know it’s not my modem. On the other hand, if I can get just 1 person to say they system works just fine for them then maybe it’s my modem.
