Wrong IP address location
I live in colorado and recently my ip address would show up as the correct town in Colorado. About 6 months ago it switched to saying that I’m in Cheyenne Wyoming even though that’s more than 200 miles away

Happens sometines when there are problems with a major node your traffic normally goes through. If so, once things are corrected it should go back on it's own.
Powering down overnight and/or through the work day may trigger a lease renewal that "rehomes" you… provide the system doesn't need to shunt you through another region atm.

Six months and 200 miles away might be pushing the proverbial envelope unless you've got some kind of an IP-address-obfuscation technique such as a VPN or iCloud Private Relay at play but is it a Charter Communications IP address and is it the same one as your router shows for your "Internet IP address."
