Feature request: Spectrum needs better multiview and Fire TV access

Hello Spectrum team,

Please forward this feature request and customer feedback to the Spectrum TV App product-development team.

I use an Amazon Fire TV Cube and have tried multiview with both Spectrum and YouTube TV. Spectrum has an opportunity to offer a better experience through flexible channel selection, saved combinations and independent closed captions. However, the pace of development has been frustrating.

YouTube TV introduced multiview in March 2023. Spectrum introduced its version in March 2026, roughly three years later. The Spectrum TV App only became available on Amazon Fire TV on April 15, 2026—about six months ago. That same month, YouTube TV expanded its multiview customization.

From a customer’s perspective, Spectrum was still catching up on basic device availability while a competitor was expanding a feature it had introduced years earlier. I had to rent an additional Spectrum cable box until your app became available on my device. These delays have a real cost and inconvenience for customers.

The features I would most appreciate are:

- Choose my channels: Select any two, three or four eligible channels from my subscription, mixing news, weather, sports and entertainment.

- Save and name multiple combinations: Create presets such as “Morning News,” “Markets” and “Football.”

- Open saved combinations quickly: Launch presets directly from the app’s home screen without rebuilding them each time.

- Control captions independently: Enable or disable closed captions separately for each channel, regardless of which channel supplies the audio. I should be able to listen to one channel while displaying captions on the other three, or enable captions on all four simultaneously.

- Make captions readable and remember preferences: Allow adjustments to caption size and background, keep captions within their respective screens, and save those settings with each preset.

- Control layout and audio easily: Rearrange channels, switch the audio source and temporarily enlarge one channel without losing the combination.

- Keep presets across compatible devices: Make saved combinations available on other supported devices on my account.

For example, I would like a saved “Morning News” multiview containing CNN, CNBC, The Weather Channel and Spectrum News, wherever those channels are available in my package. I could listen to CNBC while reading captions on the other three channels. This would make the muted screens more useful and improve accessibility for viewers who rely on captions.

Presets should remember the channels even after the current programs end, along with their positions, preferred audio source and caption settings.

Multiview was a major reason I tried YouTube TV, but its experience has not met my expectations. I could not easily build the channel combination I wanted, save it for later or independently display captions on the muted screens. Spectrum’s curated combinations are also too restrictive. Customers should be able to create combinations around their own interests.

Spectrum News access is another frustration. I have not been able to find a standalone Spectrum News app for my Fire TV Cube. Your Maine viewing page lists Roku, Apple TV and Xumo, but does not list Fire TV, while your Spectrum News app FAQ says Spectrum internet subscribers are eligible.

Please provide a straightforward way for eligible internet-only customers to watch their local Spectrum News feed on Fire TV, either through a standalone Spectrum News app or through the existing Spectrum TV App. Access should not require maintaining a separate TV package or obtaining another device.

The streaming wars are real, and customers are comparing features as well as prices. Flexible channel selection, saved presets, independent captions and convenient access to Spectrum’s local news would put Spectrum’s multiview ahead of YouTube TV for my needs. That would give me a concrete reason to stay with Spectrum or switch back.

With AI and streaming technology advancing rapidly, I expect Spectrum to prioritize practical improvements customers can use every day. These capabilities should have been on the table a long time ago. I would like to see Spectrum lead in this area instead of repeatedly catching up.

Please confirm that this feedback has been forwarded to the product team. Are customizable multiview, saved presets, independent captions and Spectrum News access on Fire TV on the roadmap? If so, what timeline can you share?

Thank you,

James
