Why does my TV's original remote no longer work after getting a new receiver?

Last week I had a new Spectrum Guide 110H installed to replace my old Cisco receiver. The technician reprogrammed the UR3-SR3s to work the new receiver and control the on/off and volume TV functions, but now the TV's original remote doesn't function anymore. The TV is an Emerson LC320EM1F.

What happened? Is there a way to restore the original remote's function without disrupting the Spectrum remote function?

Good morning @deedleann824. Welcome to our community. The remote to your TV should not be affected by the universal remote. Have you tried changing the batteries in that original remote?

Hey @deedleann824! Replacing your receiver or Spectrum remote shouldn't have any impact on your TVs own remote. Does anything light up on it when you press buttons? Have you tried changing batteries?

The batteries check out okay. When I didn't think I'd need the TV's remote anymore, I removed the batteries. That was a week ago. I don't know if that is the reason the TV's remote isn't functioning now even though I put the same batteries back in.

I think I hit on a solution, just in case anyone wants to know. I removed the batteries, held down the power button for 1 minute. Inserted one battery while holding down the power button, released the power button, then put in the other battery. Don't know why that worked, just a suggestion I found online.
