Spectrum WiFi 7 Router (SBE1V1R) dropping UDP/IPsec packets due to IPv4 NAT Hardware Flow Offloading

Hi Spectrum Community Team,

My general internet connection is working great, so I don't need standard line troubleshooting—I just wanted to pass along a technical bug report based on findings from The Ohio State University's IT/network engineering team.

OSU IT recently investigated similar VPN connection issues affecting multiple Spectrum customers using Spectrum-provided routers. They identified that certain Spectrum routers— including my SBE1V1R (WiFi 7) model—may be dropping valid IPsec VPN traffic due to IPv4 NAT Hardware Flow Offloading, where certain UDP packets are incorrectly dropped based on the checksum field, which appears inconsistent with RFC 3948.

Switching the VPN connection from UDP/IPsec to TCP works around the problem for now.

Since standard chat support wasn't able to route this as firmware feedback, could a community moderator help pass these details along to the router engineering team, or check whether there is a known issue or firmware update for the SBE1V1R? Thanks so much for your help!
