Cannot connect wifi printer

Just tried installing a wifi printer for my aunt. She has a new Epson all in one ET-2800. The router is a Spectrum 7 or something like that. Nothing works. The printer sees the network, but says password invalid. Tried using the Epson app, same issue.
I brought the printer to my house. I have Spectrum but not their router. Worked like a charm.
The spectrum app allows very little control of the router. I assume it is a firewall or 2.4ghz-5ghz issue.
Is there any way to configure the spectrum router to allow wifi printer connection? I assume the solution is a nonSpectrum router, but would like to not do that if possible.

    Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community!

    I do apologize for the issues with setting up the printer for your aunt. It is possible the wifi needs to be manually steered for 2.4 gHz for the printer. Most devices are automatically steered to the correct frequency with our newer routers but once in a while they need it to be done manually. This is done through the My Spectrum App. You can go to this link here and go to the section Setting Up Smart Devices to see if that helps.

    Tried that. The printer will not accept the password. The printer is brand new and works on my system. I have an asus router. The spectrum router seems worthless if it wont allow simple setup of brand new printers. A

    Edit: In case it's actually the router that's not accepting the password, just curious if you could take a mobile device like a smartphone or whatever and delete/"forget" its connection to the subject SSID and then try to re-connect to it in order to confirm you've got the SSID and password unequivocally down pat per se.
