Hi, Spectrum customer, online gamer and tech support for a large gaming platform.
My advice: Buy your own router and make Spectrum give you a Modem with no router functions.
ISP provided routers are often mass produced by the lowest bidder in a huge hurry to meet some deadline. That means cheap components, rushed assembly.
For video streaming and web browsing that can be relatively acceptable. For online gaming, it can be terrible. You don't need to spend a fortune either. A TP-Link AXE5400/AXE75 or BE550 would be a good replacement (I have one of each).

Just my two cents and experience talking. I hope it's helpful.

Edit (!) : @opensorce : Feel free to share what your IPv4 NAT Type is per
🔗 https://natchecker.com through your router as connected directly to your Spectrum home Internet modem for @avamichelle13 to be able to compare her results of same to.

@avamichelle13 : feel free to share what (if any) ports of what protocols of consequence you suspect to not be open, and whether you have UPnP enabled upon your router.

Good evening @avamichelle13 and Welcome to our Community Forums,

Thank you for reaching out to us about the concerns you have noticed while gaming. We can definitely send out signals and update the modem/router. This would take the system down for about 10 minutes. I am seeing that you recently called in. If you are still needing this to be completed for you, please let us know. -Lyn
