Packet Loss & Latency Spikes
I'm having packet loss and lag on intermediate node 65.29.1.28. I have given it a few days to see if it improves, but it still is out there and causing problems.
VPN drops the loss to 0%, but I can't get through to an agent on the app.
Is there anyone who can help? I'm attaching the ping info as well.

I do apologize for the issues you're having with our service. I was able to find your account using your community login. I don't see any issues with the signal going to the modem. Do you notice the issues while wired to the modem directly? I see you are using your own router and not one from us.

No issues with my equipment or if I go through VPN. Please look at the doc attachment and you can see where the routing is having issues.

Regardless of the ICMP reply heuristics of any given router, your "TEST 1" shows how all of the routers are expediently forwarding all requests to, and all replies from, the endpoint.

Hi HT_Greenfield and Tyleen,
Respectfully, this is not an ICMP rate-limiting artifact or simple router deprioritization.
While I understand intermediate hops often deprioritize ICMP packets, the traceroute data reflects active, real-time gaming packet loss and rubberbanding happening on the client end during live matches.
More importantly, when routing through a VPN (which bypasses node 65.29.1.28 / lag-25.rcr01clmkohpe.netops.charter.com), the live game packet loss immediately drops to 0% and the latency spikes completely disappear while playing on the exact same home hardware.
If local equipment or ICMP heuristics were the issue, a VPN tunnel taking a different routing path would not completely resolve the packet loss during gameplay.
Tyleen — yes, testing wired directly to the ONT produces the exact same behavior because local signals and modem levels are completely fine. The issue is strictly happening on Spectrum's regional egress node in Columbus. Could this please be escalated to Network Operations / Engineering for route inspection?
