Common Errors

  • No dial tone
  • Can’t receive incoming calls
  • Can’t make outgoing calls
  • Dropped calls
  • Static, echo or interference

No Dial Tone Troubleshooting

  • If your phone modem or multimedia terminal adapter (MTA) has a Standby button, make sure it’s off.
  • Make sure a phone cord is plugged into the port labeled Tel 1/2 on the back of the modem.
  • Secure the cable connection to the back of the modem.




 



Can’t Make Outgoing Calls




  • Make sure you’re using the correct calling method:
    • Local calling options:
      • 7-digit number
      • Area code + 7-digit number
      • 1 + area code + 7-digit number
    • Long-distance calling:
      • 1+ area code + 7-digit number
    • International calling:
      • 011+ country code + number
  • Try calling from a different phone (i.e. mobile phone).
