No Dial Tone Troubleshooting
- If your phone modem or multimedia terminal adapter (MTA) has a Standby button, make sure it’s off.
- Make sure a phone cord is plugged into the port labeled Tel 1/2 on the back of the modem.
- Secure the cable connection to the back of the modem.
Can’t Make Outgoing Calls
- Make sure you’re using the correct calling method:
- Local calling options:
- 7-digit number
- Area code + 7-digit number
- 1 + area code + 7-digit number
- Long-distance calling:
- 1+ area code + 7-digit number
- International calling:
- 011+ country code + number
- Local calling options:
- Try calling from a different phone (i.e. mobile phone).
