Greetings,
What is the make and model of your DVR box? What is the make and model of your remote? When did the problem start? Some first suggestions and reminders:
.) Get some new fresh batteries in the remote and check for the responsiveness of those buttons. See if that solves the problem.
.) Power off your cable box and unplug it for one minute. Plug it back in, Let it reboot. Wait for 30 minutes for any updates to populate before trying step three
.) Tune to any live show for at least 15 minutes.before pausing the show. Important: It may be necessary for this 15 minute time to elapse to allow the buffer to begin to fill up with content. If you change channels, the buffer may not have previous content for pausing to work, Boxes may have up to a 60-miunte pause buffer. This depends on the box and the guide software. It may be only 30 minutes.
.) If you change channels, the buffer may need a few minutes to fill up again.
.) Some channels may not be recordable like Music Choice, and Video on Demand.
.) Live TV can only be fast-forwarded after pausing and it may take time for the buffer to populate.
.) The information bar that you see when you pause or rewind or fast forward. If the big long time indicator is filled up with color, that means that information is stored in the bugger. If there is no color inside the Information/time bar there is no content buffered.
.) A turn off of the box, a reboot of the box, a changing of channels clears the memory buffer.
.) You will need DVR service and to record show content to really hold programing data.
