Who do I contact for utility pole removal?
Who do we contact in order to request that old, topped off poles be removed from our yard? We have two old poles where the only lines on them belong to Spectrum. The electric utility has installed newer, bigger poles and topped off the old poles. Spectrum needs to relocate their wires and remove the old poles. One pole is so old now it's rotten, crumbling and leaning over.

Hi and welcome!
Great question. In most cases, cable companies, including Spectrum lease or rent use of utility poles and we do not own the poles. Typically, either the local electric or telephone company own the poles. Depending on where you live, the local municipality or planning office will usually oversee the removal and replacement of utility poles. There may be a marker on the pole that will idenitfy who owns the pole. Contacting your local or county planning or municipal office is a good place to start as they will be able to direct you to who to contact.
