Just had Spectrum put in new modem. Works fine but the orange light in back keeps flashing?

A few weeks ago a technician came out and installed the newest modem which he said everyone will eventually need in their new upgrade. Everything is working fine, however, the orange light in the back keeps flashing. Is this normal?

    Yes, that is normal. It is indicating that data is being transferred. Good eye on that one :)
