    Hey there!

Thank you for your question and welcome to our community page! We are sorry to hear that you were experiencing an issue with your connection and would like to investigate this further. To confirm, are you using these devices over a Wi-Fi connection or a wired connection?

wired to the router. Wi fit to the printer and Sonos.

So to confirm you are using the printer and Sonos over a wifi connection? If so do you notice any other devices that have issues with the wifi? Do you reset the router or do you reset the devices themselves?

Yes printer and Sonos over WiFi. I have to reset router to reset the printer to connect to computer and iPads. iPads and laptop do not seem to go offline, just printer connection and the sonos

Thank you for that information. Generally speaking if not all devices are affected it is less likely an issue with our network/services.

You can try to swap out the modem/router at a local office to see if that helps as well to try to eliminate the equipment as the issue.

Could be competing with other wireless devices or other sources of interference. Especially if you're using the 2.4 Ghz band.

A lot goes on in that transmission space as well as nearby frequencies that can bleed over into the space. Wireless home phones, TV remotes, console controllers, wireless mouse/keyboard... any manner of Bluetooth devices for that matter. Non standard lighting devices... bad power transformers... automatic doors. One of the BIG offenders: microwave ovens--they can comoletely blank out ball but one or two channels the router uses on the 2.4g band.

5ghz is getting a bit crowded now too because of people trying to get away from 2.4ghz issues... even some home phones use it.

So, two things you can try: switch bands, or switch channels to try getting away from potential noise.

thank you. How do I know what band I am on and how do I switch band or channel?

Our Spectrum routers automatically find the best connection for devices for both location (Router or Pod) and frequency (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz), resulting in a smooth connection for customers and their devices as they move around their home. However, some devices require one frequency and will lose connection when the switch happens. Luckily, we have device steering options. Device steering is used to assist in connecting devices that are only capable of using the 2.4 GHz network. In the My Spectrum app:

On the Your Services screen select Setup Smart Device (2.4 GHz) feature. This feature can also be access on the Router Equipment Details screen.

Select Setup Smart Device (2.4 GHz).

Press Switch to 2.4 GHz on the Switch Devices to 2.4 GHz screen then press Done.

A notification appears to let you know that the device is connected to 2.4 GHz.
Be sure to go back to the third party device to continue setting up the smart device.
